It's handy as heck to be able to measure acres with google earth. I've been having fun using this with the elevation stuff on google earth and making imaginary dams and farm ponds, I can find the best spot for the dam, and how many acres the pond would be, and if it would cover up a field or not. I've been using this to measure the size of farm ponds, lakes, etc. Right click the box, hit paste, and view on webpage. Then you can right click to copy the polygon and go to this website If you use google earth, you can use the polygon tool to make areas, just click the mouse on each corner. It looks like in fields with no fences any longer & only corner posts, one should make the corner post more viewable from 'above' to better able to measure those acreages using the satellite imagery things.
